Governmental levy (from January 1st 2010)
The levy-system for cans and PET-bottles consists of both the basic levy and the environmental
levy. As seen below, it is only the latter beeing reduced according to return rate.

The deposit symbol tells the consumer and store employees that a deposit has been paid on the packaging. Cans and bottles up to 0.5 litres fetch NOK 1 in deposit, larger bottles and cans NOK 2.50.
