Getting your product on board Resirk's deposit system for Norway

A guide from Norsk Resirk AS The deposit symbol makes it work Norway has a highly effective nationwide deposit and recycling system for one-way beverage packaging. Norsk Resirk owns this system. One-way beverage packaging offered for sale in Norway carries both a basic fee and an environmental fee.* The environmental fee is lowered as the rate of return of packaging increases, and eliminated when the return rate reaches 95 percent.

Products included in the deposit system display Norsk Resirk’s distinctive symbol. This symbol assures consumers that the deposit will be refunded when the empty packaging is returned. Resirk’s easy-to-read symbol also guides store staff who handle returns manually.

How to register step by step

 

The deposit symbol tells the consumer and store employees that a deposit has been paid on the packaging. Cans and bottles up to 0.5 litres fetch NOK 1 in deposit, larger bottles and cans NOK 2.50.
